An AI judge has access to all existing national laws (statutes and case law/precedents) and can receive and process all forms of evidence (e.g. witnesses, written documents, photos/videos, expert testimony, speeches). As recently as the late 1990s, one preliminary round of the World Universities Debating Championships (WUDC) was designated as the "enforced humour" round. In addition to the normal judging criteria, debaters were assessed on how humourous and engaging their speeches were. Motions for these rounds were deliberately selected and worded to facilitate the use of humour - for example, "THBT cricket is to sport as Rolls-Royce is to motorcars" (R6, Cork WUDC 1996, 16th Edition).
